Next week is the start of the ski half term skiing in the Alps. Joint second with the ski Christmas ski week, the ski half term chalet holiday week is one of the first weeks to be booked quickly by family ski holiday makers not wanting to take their children out of school during term time.

The slopes will be very busy so please take extra care to make the half term skiing holiday a fun one, taking particular care when families and ski schools with young children are around. And as you should at all times, but particularly the half term skiing week, ski well within your abilities.

On the safe ski point, it no longer shocks me how many people ski recklessly and out of control. Not only for the ski half term week, but in general. This isn’t dangerous for you, or young children, its dangerous to all skiers. The classic pose is hands tight like they’re squeezing a baby to death in front of them, bottom out like a constipated chicken, and move left and right like a robot with no control whatsoever! So lets start the record straight, it doesn’t look good, it certainly isn’t clever, it could badly injure a child, and it certainly could kill a child! So at all times, least of all next week when its the half term ski holidays, ski carefully and sensibly.
